Christmas Cards Bring Joy To All Recipients

Christmas cards come in so many different shapes, sizes, colors and textures. Many are created with love and care at home and other have been created professionally. Christmas cards range from completely homemade to those created and printed professionally for your needs. We have all seen Christmas cards ranging from picture cards created by photographers to those created personally by hand. Many arrive with photos of the family pets, children or the entire family. Whatever ones desire for a Christmas greeting, there is something for everyone. My family and I enjoy visiting the mailbox during the holiday season. We are always excited to see whose card we find in the box.

My family and I thoroughly enjoy the beautiful cards sent from friends and family over the holiday season. They are scattered over our mantel and on the refrigerator door as special additions to our home for Christmas. Everyone seems to become even more creative each year with their expressions of love and joy during the beautiful Christmas time.

Christmas cards come in so many different varieties, with some friends and family members being more creative than others. No matter the creativity they are all wonderful warm wishes. One of our most precious cards was created from brown construction paper where we traced the boy's hands and glued them together to look as if antlers. We then placed their pictures on their hands. We have also used snowflakes cut from white construction paper for the background to one of our black and white family photos that we used as our Christmas cards previously.

It seems from some of the past Christmas cards we have received some of my family and friends are able to grab actions shots with their kids that make wonderful photo Christmas cards. I have enjoyed some of the most precious action shots of the kids trimming their tree, playing in the snow, or playing with their pets. If you aren't a skilled photographer or need help grabbing those pictures you can always have a trained photographer take photos of the family and have them create your cards for you. There are so many unlimited ideas and avenues available. I like to add a little more flare to my cards. I usually tie a ribbon through two holes that I punch at the top of the card for a little extra punch.

If you are like my family and would like to enjoy creating Christmas cards of your own, construction paper is a great tool to start with. It is sturdy and can be cut to any shape you like and comes in a variety of colors. With construction paper, glue and glitter my family and I have created some great season greetings. This has actually become one of our most cherished family traditions. A few of our creations have included cards in shapes of snowmen, Santa Claus, Christmas trees and ornaments. We always add a picture to each creation.

If you would rather not start completely from scratch but would like to add some of your flare you could start with card stock already printed with a background and add some special touches. Some suggestions would be to use a glitter pen to accent the edges of the cards, tie a ribbon around the card or add a picture to your card.

Companies are now offering to add music to your Christmas greeting. What a great idea for a little special touch to the annual greeting. You may want to go a little extra step and record your own Christmas carol for your card.

Mailbox visits during Christmas time, are usually exciting for my family and I. We look forward to opening the warm greetings from our friends and family and seeing their new creations.
